Chapter 6

"Xiao Xun!" Ya Lun called out to her as she went out of the girls' toilet.

Xiao Xun looked at Ya Lun coldly, and continued to walk towards the canteen.

"Can I have a word with you?" Ya Lun said, pleading.

Upon hearing the plea in his voice, Xiao Xun looked at Ya Lun and said, "After school, 'Kay?"

Ya Lun was surprised. "O- Okay!" He was glad.

*After school, at the school garden, hid behind a tree*

"Xiao Xun!" Ya Lun called out again.

Xiao Xun said, "Yeah? You can just call me Xun."

Ya Lun blinked. "Er, okay, Xun. Erm... Can I change lots with you? I want to go to the other class for the camp."

Xiao Xun looked at Ya Lun. "WHY?" She demanded.

"Er...," Ya Lun trailed off. "For some personal reasons."

"Kay then. I'm off," Xiao Xun threatened.

"FINE!" Ya Lun snarled. "I want to be with Gui Gui."

Xiao Xun laughed. "Are you sure that's all?"

Ya Lun gulped. "I do not want you to harm her, after seeing what you did to her just now."

Xiao Xun eyes were moist now. "Why?" She sobbed. "Why do you like her? Why do you not trust me? Why do you prefer her? Am I so bad that you can't even look at me without hatred?"

Ya Lun was shocked ta her sudden outburst. "Well," Ya Lun was a straightforward person. "Firstly, I am not sure whether I like her or not. Secondly, I do not trust you. Thirdly, I prefer her because she has a better character than anyone I had knew. Forthly, - "

"STOP!" Xiao Xun begged. "Don't continue! Please..." She croaked.

"Forthly, I can't look at you without hatred," Ya Lun did not care.

"Why?" Xiao Xun begged.

"Ha," Ya Lun laughed without humour. "I hate you! Because, if it was not because of your Dad, I would not have been an orphan!"

"What? Wh... What ever do... do you m... mean?" Xiao Xun asked, tears rolling uncontrollably from her eyes to her cheeks.

"Ha," he laughed again without humour, he raised his right hand and pulled his hair to the back. "Have you ever wondered how your family became a millionaire when they were only rubbish collector?"

"Wh-What? You can't possibly know! I don't even know!" Xiao Xun plead.

"Why can't I know? If your dad had not took my sister off to sell for billions, would there be you? He, sold my sister and I do not even know if she is still alive or not! My family was one of the Asia's most richest billlionaire years back! My sister..." Ya Lun was sobbing already.

"Ya Lun..." Xiao Xun was not expecting this. "Is your sister's name Ya Jun?"

"Wh - "Ya Lun looked up, Xiao Xun's face was already full of tears. "What do you mean? Well, yeah, that is my sister's name."

"You mean was?" Xiao Xun asked. "She was adopted, you got the story all wrong!"

"HUH?"

"Your sister was found on the streets, crying, and then my dad's garbage truck happened to pass by! There was a lollipop inside and she went in on her own accord! My dad only found out when she started crying! Her lollipop was sucked finish. He brought her home, and found out that her name was Ya Jun! We brought her back to the street the next day and but to only find two corpse that were her parents. She was sobbing uncontrollably and a passer-by saw. She thought that we ran them down and was abducting Ya Jun! She must be the one who told you the false tales!"

Ya Lun was shocked. "WHAT? Then, where is she now, is she with you?"

Xiao Xun looked disappointed. "She was adopted the next day, by a kind soul from Perth. The couple was Chinese. That is all I know." Looking at Ya Lun's face, she said, "Sorry."

Ya Lun squatted to the ground. "Adopted... She is gone... FOREVER!" He sobbed.

"Sorry!" Xiao Xun repeated this over and over again.

"It is not your fault," Ya Lun said over his gritted teeth - he was always reasonable.

"Anyway, will you exchange the lots?" Ya Lun said, trying to keep his voice even.

Although Xiao Xun was guilty, she did not want Ya Lun to be with Gui Gui. She found an excuse. "Sorry, I want to be with Wang Zi."

Ya Lun shouted. "AHHH!"

And he ran off towards home. Xiao Xun was not happy.

*In the school, the same day...*

"Oh god... Where am I staying tonight?" thought Gui Gui helplessy. "Dad gave me five thousand doallars only... Enough for school fees this month."

"RING!" Gui Gui's phone rang.

Gui Gui giggled silently, a man named Mei Mei. "Oh, I don't think I know you."

"Yep," Gui Gui was serious already.

"Well, I have a place for you, do you want? The rental fee is only two dollars per month."

"TWO DOLLARS?" Gui Gui choked. Could this be a scam? Gui Gui thought.
